Metabolizing Failure #054

In April 2025, I launched a program I deeply believed in. The vision felt aligned. The content was solid. But registrations trickled in-far fewer than I’d hoped.

At first, I spiraled. What had I missed? Why didn’t it resonate? I labeled it a failure. Quietly, but sharply.

But in the weeks that followed, I did something I hadn’t done before: I let myself feel it. The sting of disappointment, the confusion, the doubt. I didn’t rush to fix or repackage it. I listened.

And what I heard was surprising.

That offer had been rooted in an older version of me-still wise, but no longer current. I realized I’d designed it from a place of proving, not presence. I wanted to be seen as strategic and established, when what I craved was intimacy and depth.

The failure became a flashlight. It illuminated what I actually wanted to build: smaller containers, deeper connection, slower pace. More voice, less veneer.

Sometimes failure isn’t a detour-it’s the moment the map redraws itself around your truth.

If something has fallen flat for you this year, I wonder what truth it might be pointing to. Could it be revealing a change in your own direction, or in the kind of energy you want to steward? What might this so-called failure be protecting you from? Or guiding you toward?

Let your unmet goals speak. Beneath the disappointment, they might be holding an invitation to realignment.
